11 Unique Pre-wedding Photoshoot Locations (PART 1)

Choosing or shortlisting wedding shoot concepts and locations can be a headache. When we think of pre-wedding shoots, the few places that first come to mind are Marina Bay Sands, Botanic Gardens or probably some fancy hotel in up-town Orchard. And they are indeed great places, with the grandeur and luxury they add to the photos.

   

However, a pre-wedding shoot is more than just pretty photos. We want to create a story with it, a story distinct to you and your partner. Using the usual wedding shoot location may not help that cause. Some local flavour or something that is close to the heart for you and your partner is a factor to consider when choosing a pre-wedding shoot location.

   

Here are some less than likely locations that might be the next location for your pre-wedding shoot.

   

1. MRT

The MRT is a place we are all too familiar with. It’s a place where paths are crossed but not all paths that matter. Mix the mundane with the extraordinary and you might find yourself creating the most exciting story ever. (Plus points: A crowded train might add more excitement to your photo!)

  

2. Pearl Centre

The next closest thing you can get to a Wong Kar Wai-esque theme shoot with Pearl Centre as backdrop. It is a building that existed in past Singapore and reminiscent of Hong Kong street and architecture, very much finding its place in a Wong Kar Wai film.  

   

3. Heartland areas

Home is where the heart is and it is in the heartlands we find a home in. Weave your wedding story out from the settings of our heartlands, a play on the everyday mundane made magical.   

 

4. The Dragon Playground

Looking for a little playfulness and nostalgia to tint your pictures? The widely-known Dragon Playground, designed by Mr Khor Ean Ghe, is the perfect place for some throwback with your photos.

 

5. Alley ways

Instead of insidious alley ways of your typical mafia movies, we have the vibrant alley ways of Joo Chiat. Be bold and take on a pseudo gang themed photoshoot(but all in good fun, of course).   

  

6. Secondary School or Institution you first met at

A place for the high school sweethearts! Take your partner and yourself back for a spin with a shoot at the institution the two of you were from. It’s the perfect retelling for how you met.

  

8. Supermarket

The whimsicality of the almost endless isles of products at the supermarket will surely bring an extra vibrancy to the photos. 

 

 

9. Sea Aquarium

  

Find yourself in a whole new world in the dimly lit sea aquarium and be surrounded by the underwater world. It’s a surreal setting with surely the right amount of magic for your wedding story.
