World Cancer Day

'To build an inclusive community where everyone is part of it, not apart from it'

 

SPD is a local charity that seeks to working in partnership with people with disabilities to develop their potential to the fullest so they can be self-reliant and independent. Through over 20 programmes that encompass early intervention, therapy, day care, educational, employment and social service support, SPD serves people with physical, sensory and learning disabilities.

12 days of giving back with FotoHub

this festive season we're doing things different

 

In the spirit of the season of giving, FotoHub will be donating 35% of our online sales proceeds from 1 - 12 December to SPD.  Through this giving, we hope to support SPD’s mission in helping people with disabilities lead a richer and more independent life.

Where will the money go?

Funds will be used for the provision of training and help in assistive technology as well as access to education, employment, therapy, transport and social support.

SHOP FOR A CAUSE

Through their employment program, SPD provides training in a real work environment. One of their specialities is their bookbinding techniques. Books are traditionally bound by hand. Every part, from wrapping the cover to sewing the pages together, is done painstakingly by hand. Your journal will be one of a kind.

Siew Lan is one of the craftspeople at SPD. She has a bubbly and friendly demeanour, approaching life with vigour for knowledge. She suffered from a childhood illness that required her to amputate her leg, she did not let that set her back.


Today, she serves as the supervisor in the bookbinding team and ensures utmost efficiency in the bookbinding work processes amongst the team. Her strive for perfection is evident in the immaculate hot stamping work done on the personalized journals. 



With every purchase on the SPD eshop, you are contributing towards the independence and self-reliance of persons with disabilities.
